Goodbye to Marijuana Man – Greg Williams dies – Newest hashish information right this moment

The cannabis community mourns Greg Williams, aka Marijuana Man, after he died of cancer today. Greg Williams was a noted grassroots cannabis activist. If you’ve smoked Buds in Canada, chances are that it was related to the genetics they distribute. Bought mail order seeds from Cannabis Culture? He wrote the instructions that come with every order. You may also remember him as the MC of cannabis events like 420 Vancouver or Cannabis Day. Greg Williams got involved at a time when cannabis was being viewed as illegal and putting himself at risk of changing the stigma. He worked hard and it made a difference. Respect should be shown where it is due; Here is a tribute to the memory of Marijuana Man, Greg Williams.

Sow seeds …

In 1996 he started to work at the Emery Direct Marijuana Seed Bank. With a mission to make cannabis seeds accessible, Greg ran the Seed Desk at Cannabis Culture’s headquarters in downtown Vancouver. Working with Marc Emery and the late Michelle Rainey, Greg sold literally millions of cannabis seeds in Canada and the United States. In 2005 he was arrested for this and sentenced to life imprisonment. Thankfully, they gave both Marijuana Man and Michelle Rainey parole; Marc Emery received a 5 year prison sentence.

So you want to grow pot

It wasn’t just about selling seeds; Greg Williams knew a lot about cannabis and was always happy to share what he knew. His humble demeanor, knowledge and experience made him a go-to place for the cannabis community. In 2002, Greg aired the first episode of his show “So You Wanna Grow Pot”. At a time when it was very illegal to grow cannabis, he filmed and posted an instruction video online.

420 Vancouver

It wasn’t always serious. Greg loved to have fun and made it an annual crowd puller at 420 events. Greg was the 420 Vancouver MC for several years. He was always relaxed and smoked a bit.

In early January 2021, Greg’s health began to deteriorate rapidly. Strong and stoic, he suffered silently for as long as possible until he was admitted to Vancouver General Hospital. He died after battling something called “advanced widespread metastasis”.

Greg set up a fundraiser online to help cover bills and living expenses. The proceeds will now go to his family. If you would like to contribute to this fundraiser, click here.

A reminder and celebration of life will take place on Pot TV this Wednesday. On February 17th at 4pm PST, Jody Emery will host a special tribute episode of “From Under The Influence.” Visit the @PotTVNetwork and @CannabisCultureMagazine platforms. ⁣
