Have a drink with Kate Winslet and watch Daniel Craig fill a bath with weed. Such is the life of a kid star within the 90s

Thomas Ian Nicholas, who has appeared in television shows and films from Who’s the Boss to A Kid in King Arthurs Court and American Pie, consumed a lot of weeds and alcohol in his early years as a child star.
Forty-year-old Nicholas recently spoke in an interview with Vice about the things he saw and did in his earliest days as a television and filmmaker, sometimes at a tender age.

What kind of things? Well, there was the time after making A King in King Arthurs Court he shared his first beer (a pint of Guinness) with Oscar winner Kate Winslet, post production, at a pub in England.
According to Vice, Nicholas was 14 years old and a minor at the time. The UK drinking age for beer is technically 16 years old when accompanied by an adult.
There was also a time when Nicholas, when he was previously working on the same film in Hungary, watched Daniel Craig and Art Malik, who were also part of the cast “Kid”, gathering loads of wild grass. This time the underage star did not participate.

“I’m pretty sure they filled a bathtub with it and dried it out. And they said it was terrible, ”he passed on. Maybe it was hemp.
However, when he made his film debut in Rookie of the Year 1993, there was no alcohol or weed, Vice reports. That’s probably a good thing as he played with Gary Busey, long known for his drug use, accidents, and wild antics, as probably no newbie would have been able to keep up.
However, Nicholas remembers how Busey gave him what he calls the “ultimate wedgie” before carrying him around the dining room in his underwear … and in front of about 100 crew members.
These were certainly eventful times during his early Hollywood fame, both on and off screen. One of them was the American Pie discussion, in which a foreign exchange student was secretly filmed.
“There are a lot of things that are being canceled now. So it’s definitely not the time to get a grip on a teen sex comedy, ”he suggested to Vice.
He plays and still plays music as part of the Thomas Nicholas Band and is now married, has two children and is quite happy. Apparently the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree: his son is now a child actor himself.
“I’ve been looking for a turning point like this for a long time,” said Nicholas in an interview. “I have a feeling that the best parts are yet to come. I may be 40, but I now feel ready to begin this new facet of my career. “
