For millennia, cannabis has been used as an aphrodisiac to make people hornier. It was used in ancient cultures to increase libido, produce prolonged erections, delay climax, aid lubrication, and release sexual inhibitions.

For most users, cannabis sharpens the senses, puts a person in a relaxed state, and gives their partner a sense of connectedness. Research suggests that “marijuana use predicts lower levels of partner aggression.”

What’s happening? THC, the psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis, releases dopamine in the brain. Dopamine acts as a neurotransmitter, mimicking anandamide, the naturally occurring neurochemical agent.

Here are some ways weeds can improve your love life.

Increased stamina

Marijuana appears to delay ejaculation for most men. The science is unclear, but many have suggested that cannabis removes stress and allows the brain to “just go with the flow”. Marijuana also creates a feeling of slowing down time, allowing the user to be more in the moment.

Reach orgasm

About a third of American women report having difficulty achieving orgasm. When cannabis is consumed, it activates a receptor in the endocannabinoid system and creates physical and mental stimulation. Mitch Earleywine, a professor of psychology at the State University of New York, explains: “The CB1 receptor appears to be involved in improved tactile sensations and general euphoria.

Intensify orgasms

Again, there is no clear science. However, it has been reported that the intensity of sexual activity increases under the influence of cannabis, especially in women. Earleywine attributes this sensation to the ability of the CB1 receptor to convert the THC into a more tactile experience. The euphoric feeling lasts longer, or at least the perception is that the orgasm is longer. And whether perception or reality, the smile is the same.

reduce stress

Fear and stress are sex killers. For many people, cannabis is a stress reliever and calms an active brain. There’s nothing worse than trying to enjoy an intimate moment when you’re worried about your job or your bank account.

A word of warning

Chronic, long-term cannabis use can result in low motivation in some people. And, unfortunately, that includes sexual activity.
