Man with Florida tattoo on brow referred to as 911 for an elevator however was as an alternative arrested for weed possession
A 22-year-old Florida man who is so in love with his home state that he has a tattooed image of it on his forehead has been arrested for 911 abuse and marijuana possession.
The man treated 911 like a personal taxi service and called twice in the early hours of last Sunday in an emergency to “drive home,” according to WGN TV, citing a complaint filed with the court.
The first time he called was after 4 a.m. in the New Port Richey suburb of Tampa, the New York Post reports. An answering MP from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office offered to call a taxi, but since he had no money, police reported that he was walking towards his house.
The walk didn’t last long, however, as the man then called 911 a second time and asked to be picked up and taken home. He didn’t get the answer he wanted and “cursed the answering machine,” reports WGN TV.
That was enough for the MP who arrested him while he was still on 911, according to the New York Post. During a search, the sheriff’s deputy found an unidentified amount of cannabis.
Possession of 20 grams or less of weeds in Florida can result in a first-degree criminal offense leading to up to a year in prison and a fine of $ 1,000 ($ 1,280).
Matthew Leatham is accused of abusing the 911 system and owning weeds. Leatham has been cleared for a $ 300 ($ 384) bond.
