Missouri is asking the court docket to cancel the permits granted to develop medicinal hashish

After a Missouri court ruled in February to grant medical licenses to a group of companies, a Missouri marijuana regulator is now asking the court to revoke those licenses.

When the Missouri Department of Health and Safety (DHSS) reached that decision on March 24, it signed a petition in the Missouri Court of Cole County to overturn the February decision.

The situation was reported on legal news website Law360: “The DHSS said the commission’s decision was ‘arbitrary, capricious or unreasonable’, ‘a violation of constitutional rules’ and ‘includes, among other things, an abuse of power’. ”

Heya Kirksville and Heya Excello, the companies in question, had their first application rejected by the Missouri DHSS more than a year ago. That decision was reversed that year when the Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission granted licenses to grow medicinal cannabis on February 24.

The denials of Heya Kirksville and Heya Excello’s motions are among the latest in a series of disputes settled in the Missouri cannabis program.

The various lawsuits that have shaken the integrity of the Missouri medical marijuana program include a memo released by state marijuana regulator Democrats that obstructed the investigation into the MMJ program, a judge from Cole County , who dismissed a cultivation license limitation lawsuit, and a Florida-based cannabis inventory tracking company Metrc loses a lawsuit over whether Metrc can bill cannabis companies for using the Metrc tracking tags.
