So 39-year-old Fox set out to raise some cash for the hospital. Through his private Facebook page called Canadian Cannabis Grow Group, which was set up to help people, he raised $ 912 from members and companies that were also looking to give back. The money is earmarked for CHEO’s Make-A-Wish general fund.

Since Fox’s private site launched three months ago, it has attracted more than 700 members, according to The Review.

Medical cannabis turned out to be its own gift for Fox, who was injured in a loading accident two years ago and couldn’t find relief with prescription drugs like morphine and opioids.

In 2019, the majority of people who use cannabis for medicinal purposes reported that this had helped them reduce their use of other drugs. /. A friend suggested medicinal cannabis last spring, The Review notes, and Fox hasn’t looked back since. He was able to resume some normal activities and has since received permission to grow his own medicine.

“Not everyone who uses marijuana is dopper or stoner – we’re good people,” says Fox. “We are all like family and have come together for a good cause.”

Last year’s Canadian Cannabis Survey shows that 14 percent of respondents aged 16 and over said they used cannabis for medicinal purposes, an increase of 13 percent from 2018. The lion’s share of respondents, 73 percent, said they used cannabis for medicinal purposes Purposes to be used Purposes had no document from a healthcare professional.

As with Fox, the majority of people who used cannabis for medicinal purposes reported that this helped them cut back on other drugs, although the 61 percent was lower than the 68 percent in 2018.
