What resides resin made out of hashish focus – and the way do you have to use it?

With so many different types of cannabis concentrates, it can sometimes be difficult to pinpoint the differences between them all. Here is an introduction to living resin and its uses.

Living resin in a nutshell

Living resin is a high quality concentrate that is commonly consumed by cannabis smokers with a swab, nectar collector, or vape pen. It’s full of natural flavors and cannabinoids, and is considered the best form of concentrate available.

Living resin appears almost like a sugary paste and is typically light yellow to dark orange in color. It’s often more expensive than other concentrates, but because of the high quality and high THC content (usually 80-90%), you need less living resin to get the same effects as chips, wax or budder.

How is living resin made?

Living resin is obtained from cannabis plants that are flash frozen after harvest. It is made from cannabis material that has not been dried or cured. This method allows the natural terpenes to stay intact.

What are terpenes?

Terpenes are the aromatic oils that give cannabis its different flavors, such as pine, cheese, citrus fruits or berries. They are secreted by the same glands on the marijuana plant as the cannabinoids THC and CBD. Over 100 terpenes have been identified to date.

The closed loop extraction process

The method of extracting living resin was developed between 2012 and 2013 by a team of growers from Colorado. After the plant material is frozen, they keep it in this state until the extraction process begins. They do this to better preserve the active ingredients by dipping the plant material in liquid nitrogen or using dry ice.

The plant material then goes through a closed loop extraction process using hydrocarbon solvents such as butane or propane. During the closed loop extraction process, the raw flower is sprayed with a pressurized solvent that separates the cannabinoids and trichomes from the plant matter.

In a closed circuit, the solvent never comes into contact with air. Instead, they are contained in a chamber, and then the solvent is sucked back in by a vacuum pump and re-enters the solvent tank where it can be reused.

do the washing up

After the extraction process, approx. 95% cannabis oil remains, which has to go through a 72-hour rinse. With living resin, this can be done in a vacuum oven at room temperature. This results in a final product with a THC content of 98%, which can then be ingested through various processes.

How to smoke living resin

There are many ways to include living resin. One of the most common methods is dabbing. However, vaporizing or using a nectar collector are also popular consumption methods.

What dabs

Dabbing has quickly become a preferred method of consuming marijuana concentrates like budder, sauce, live resin, rosin, and oils. Dabbing uses highly concentrated cannabinoids and terpenes and often creates a delicious experience.

To dab, use a glass rig available at most smoke shops. It looks a lot like a bong, but instead contains a titanium, quartz, ceramic bowl, or a glass nail called a banger. Then heat the banger with a flashlight or use an e-nail that heats up on its own. You put your desired amount of living resin on a spoon-shaped swab tool and then start heating.

Once you’ve reached the temperature you want, place a small swab (a small piece of living resin) in the banger, then inhale. NOTE: Do not try to pull the beater out with your hands. With a swab, you don’t have to remove a bowl to inhale. Incorrect handling can result in severe burns.

It can take some getting used to as you will need to determine how much live resin to use and how hot to heat your banger. If you overheat it, you will burn your product. Or if you don’t heat it enough, you won’t activate the cannabinoids and terpenes. The optimal range is between 157 and 204 degrees Celsius, but try to aim for the lowest temperature first. Start with small swabs and work your way up to the size and temperature that you think works best.

What is evaporating?

Regardless of whether a tabletop vaporizer or a vape pen is used, vaporizing living resin gives excellent results in achieving a star high. It’s also the most covert way of using concentrates as it doesn’t produce smoke, just steam. Again, you should only use a little living resin at a time.

If you are using a tabletop vaporizer, watch out for product overheating and use the temperature control features on a medium to medium to low setting. If it looks like you aren’t getting much from a hit, slowly increase the temperature gradually.

Vape pens

Vape pens are becoming increasingly popular as they are a great way to use living resin discreetly and on the go. Most models look similar to their nicotine vaping counterparts.

First, open the chamber of your vapor and, depending on your device, dab a small swab on the coil or the piece of ceramic surrounding the coil. Put the top back on the chamber and pull it open. You can use a little more live resin than in a swab or vaporizer, but don’t go overboard or you won’t get the high you want.

What is a nectar collector?

A nectar collector is a long silicone or glass tube that can be heated at the top with a burner. Then when you suck on the unheated end, lightly touch the hot side of the tube with a piece of live resin and inhale. Along with a vape pen, many people find this method to be the easiest for the lungs. A nectar collector is cheaper than a swab or vaporizer. All you need is a tube, a swab tool, a flashlight, and a jar of living resin.

Most people recommend using a glass tube because you can determine how much of your sight you are taking in, while with silicone collectors you cannot see how much hits you are getting. Amazon has some nectar collectors. Look at her!

How not to use living resin

Do not use live resin in a joint, pipe, or bong. It is not meant to be burned that way, and all you are burning is the THC and the best properties you need to hit spectacular highs.

Live resin is a popular concentrate that is widely used by cannabis connoisseurs and newbies. It produces a good head and body high, although it depends on the loads used in the process. If you are looking for the best high and taste you should definitely choose live resin as your product of choice.

Be careful with your swab devices and always use the flashlight in accordance with product guidelines. Now, enjoy your living resin with confidence, and remember to start with small dabs and lower temperatures to determine your personal needs.
